This Privacy Policy explains what information L.O.S Farms ("we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the L.O.S Farms website, game, and associated Discord bot (together, the "Service"). It's incorporated into, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service and User Agreement.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. If you register with email, we collect your first and last name, email address, and a hashed (never plain-text) password. If you register or sign in with Discord, we collect your Discord user ID, username, and avatar URL, as provided to us by Discord.
Gameplay data. Your farm, inventory, currency balances, level/XP, quest progress, and similar in-game state.
Content you provide. Forum posts, chat messages, a profile avatar image (if you upload a custom one), and a forum signature image (if you set one).
Technical and usage data. Your IP address and session identifiers are recorded for login sessions, primarily for security, abuse prevention, and to keep you signed in. We also keep basic server logs (for example, error logs) that may incidentally include request metadata.
Admin action logs. For accountability, we keep an internal log of moderation and administrative actions (such as bans or currency corrections) taken on accounts by our staff.
We do not knowingly collect financial or payment information, because the Service does not process any payments (see Terms of Service, Section 2).
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- create and maintain your account and let you play the game;
- authenticate you and keep your session secure;
- operate community features (forums, chat, leaderboard, Discord bot commands);
- moderate the Service and enforce our Terms of Service and User Agreement;
- diagnose and fix technical problems.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. How Information Is Shared
We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
- Discord Inc., to the extent necessary to support Discord login/account-linking and our Discord bot — governed by Discord's own privacy practices for the data it holds;
- where required by law, legal process, or a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of L.O.S Farms, its users, or the public;
- a successor operator, if operation of the Service is ever transferred, subject to this Policy continuing to apply to previously collected information.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your own account, along with the personal data tied to it, at any time from your profile settings. Some information (for example, records needed for legal compliance, security investigations, or the admin action log covering actions taken on your account) may be retained after account deletion where we have a legitimate reason to do so.
5. Cookies and Sessions
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical measures (such as password hashing and access controls) to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. As described in our Terms of Service, the Service is provided "as is," including with respect to data security.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information without such consent, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing.
