Animals & Buildings

Beyond crops, farms can be stocked with livestock and functional buildings.

Animals: FarmVille featured hundreds of distinct animals over its lifetime, obtained through the Market, as gifts from neighbors, or by adopting wandering/lost animals that appeared on a farm. Each animal produces a related good on a timer — cows produce milk, ducks produce down feathers, and so on — and rarer breeds produce premium goods used for crafting recipes.

Storage buildings: purpose-built structures like the chicken coop, dairy farm, horse stable, nursery barn, beehive, pigpen, duck pond, and sheep pen let players store larger numbers of a given animal in one place and harvest them all at once, rather than clicking each animal individually. The stable, for example, lets players store and breed horses, while the nursery raises young cows and horses into adults.

The Market: the Market is the central shop for seeds, animals, buildings, trees, decorations, vehicles, and farm expansions. Most items unlock progressively — as a player levels up, more of the Market's catalog becomes available to purchase.

Buildings in general are a higher-investment, higher-payoff choice than crops: many require Farm Cash (the premium currency) rather than coins, though a select few could be bought with coins alone.
